Great colour. A mature nose which is rich, fruity (ripe plum), fragrant. Water introduces espresso coffee and dark chocolate. Rounded flavours, sweet, drying lightly. A triumph.

Mellow, venerable with fresh apricot and almond oil notes. Big oily mouthfeel - sweet and curiously magnificent.

Score: 4,5
Natural strength. Very deep amber. Some nose prickle. Rum toffees; some scented oil, some caramel. Becomes more oily when water added, even slightly waxy; complex pleasant, elusive. Sweet, but vibrant on the tongue. Medium to long finish. Another cracker!

Caperdonich 34yo
Bottled By: Duncan Taylor
Region: Speyside, Single Malt Whisky, 55.6% abv
Price Band (£): over 50
Score: 4,5
Natural strength. Mid amber. Wonderful aged nose (flowers and fruit; highly scented). These scents pass over in the taste, and linger in the very long finish. Holds together well with a drop of water, becoming more complex. Pleasant mouthfeel, sweet then dry. An excellent, vibrant old whisky.
